Floyd Merton Langworthy served as head of the science department of Albion High School from 1909 to 1916. Mr. Langworthy was also quite an accomplished musician and during his tenure here directed the high school orchestra. He is most remembered for organizing the Albion High School Mandolin and Guitar Club. A unique and popular orchestra which performed on numerousoccasions. After resigning in 1916, Langworthy established the psychology department at Wayne State University in Detroit where he served as its head from 1920-1929.
