Fred J. Herrick, 1868

Fred J. Herrick was a well known Albion businessman for many years; born August 6, 1868, in Baldwinsville, NY. He came to Albion in 1879 and attended the local public schools and Albion College.
Herrick remained president of the Albion Lumber Company until March 1, 1933, when the company was reorganized; however, he retained stock in the firm. Herrick later developed the Maple Ridge area off of Maple Street. He served as an elected citizen member of the Board of Review from 1930 until 1952, and was a member of the board of directors of Homestead Loan and Building Association for twenty-eight years. His expertise in the building trade had assisted the association greatly in making decisions. He died March 7, 1858. P102
