Hart, Vernice S. Walkinshaw, 1890

Vernice Walkinshaw was born August 4, 1890, to James and Clarissa Walkinshaw. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1908, then attended Michigan Normal College in Ypsilanti. She married E. L. Carl Hart on April 18, 1914. Vernice taught school, including three and one-half years in Albion Public Schools, retiring in 1952. She was a member of the Jackson Road Club and the First Presbyterian Church. Her husband and son James H. both preceded her in death. Her daughter-in-law, Elinor Hart, was also a teacher in the Albion Schools.

Note: Corrections made on June 3, 2003. On suggestion of Ben Hart,, changed sons name from John H to James H and changed daughter-in-law’s name from Eleanor to Elinor.
