Patrick Leo Hanlon, 1894

Was the first Albion soldier killed in World War I. A 1913 graduate of Albion High School, Hanlon enlisted in the National Guard in 1917, and was subsequently activated and placed in Company G of the 126th Infantry, 32nd Division. Corporal Hanlon was killed in action in France on August 18, 1918, and is burried there. The local American Legion Post No.55 was named in honor of Hanlon when it was organized in 1919.
