Fred Lorenzo D. Groff, 1858

Fred Lorenzo D. Groff (1858-1957), vice-president of the Albion LumberCompany, had worked for his brother John Groff in the lumber yard when it was known as Groff Brothers, doing accounting and general office work. Fred left the firm to become a rural mail carrier, but returned in 1916 and continued with the firm for many years. At his death in 1957 he was Albion’s oldest resident.
