Lena Hunt was born in the state of New York on June 28, 1879, and came to Albion at age eleven. She graduated from Albion High School in 1896 and from Albion College in 1902.In 1905, she married Minard Farley, a South Albion farmer and orchardist, who became one of Michigan’s first Master Farmers.Lena was a member of E.L.T. Club, held most of the offices in the Hannah Tracy Grant Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was one of the first presidents of the Junior/Senior High Parent-Teacher Association, and was a charter member of the South Albion Farmers’ Club. She was also a charter member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and helped reinstate Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at Albion College after its absence from the campus for forty years. She was the sister of Lynn Bogue Hunt, a prominent American artist and illustrator. She died on July 31, 1961.
