Davis, Salvira Elliot, 1836

Salvira Elliot was born on September 13, 1836, in Northfield, Summit County, Ohio. Her parents moved the family to Sheridan Township near Albion in 1850. She married William Davis, an area bricklayer and farmer, on January 1, 1856.
Salvira bore eight children, four of each sex. She raised the children on their farm north of Albion where they all received a “practical education.” Salvira and her husband were married 57 years. All but one of their children were able to attend their golden wedding anniversary. Salvira was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. She died in her home in February, 1913, at the age of 85.
