John G. Brown was born in New York on June 7, 1850, and was an 1871 graduate of Albion College. He also served on the local school board. He served as president of the bank until his death on October 25, 1909. Succeeding him was Frank E. Palmer, who had come to Albion in 1882. Palmer was born in Rochester township of Lorain County, Ohio on August 7, 1847. He obtained his medical degree in 1876 and set up medical practice in Albion upon his arrival. He died May 9, 1912, just over two years after becoming president of the bank.
