Ellsworth Anderson taught at Albion High Schoolfrom 1951 until his retirement 25 years later in 1976. Anderson moved from theold Washington Gardner High School to the newly constructed Senior High. During his tenure, Anderson served as a coach for 14 years, and as athletic director for 12 years. A respected footballcoach, the 1958 Breeze Annual was dedicated in his honor. The Ellsworth Anderson trophy was established in 1976, and awarded annually to the outstanding girl athlete at Albion High School. Anderson was inducted into the Michigan High School coaches’ Hall of Fame in 1977.
