Albion Public Library Board of Trustees
 
    Purpose: To make rules and regulations as necessary for the proper operation of the Albion Public Library.

Established: Charter Section 8.13 provides for a five-member board to be appointed by the Mayor subject to confirmation by the Council. One member may be a non-resident of the City. One member may be a Councilperson. This board has statutory powers that make it the owner of the library property and the board sets salaries for its employees even though the Council approves its budget annually. The members must possess the qualifications of an “elector” of the City. Charter Section 4.2 provides that to be an elector of the City one must have been in residence within the City for at least two years.

Membership: Five voting members. One voting member may be from the service area not within City boundaries. Appointed by the Mayor, with confirmation by City Council.

Term: Five years

Meetings: Monthly – Second Monday at 5:30 p.m.
