The Sigma chi fraternity house was erected in 1886 at 1100 E. Cass St. It was the first fraternity house erected specifically to house Greeks at Albion College. It was used until 1966, at which time the fraternity moved into newly constructed modern facilities on E. Erie St. P13

With its beginnings as a secret society called the I.S.C. (ImpromptuSpeaking Club), Alpha Pi chapter of Sigma Chi was installed at Albion in1886. The house shown here was built in 1889 and was located at 1100 E. CassStreet. It was the first fraternity house erected specifically to housefraternity members at Albion. During WWII the house was called theInterfraternity and Independent Hall.
