Dunn, Ethel May Pratley, 1907

Ethel May Pratley was born April 29, 1907, in Eckford Township, to Daniel and Sarah Ford Pratley. She was one of five children. She attended Lusk Rural School in Eckford Township and graduated from Marshall High School in 1923 and Calhoun County Normal School in 1924. Ethel later attended and graduated from Western State Teachers College, now Western Michigan University.
Ethel married Lester H. Dunn on July 14, 1927. They raised one son, Robert L. Dunn.
Ethel taught in several rural schools, the Albion Public Schools and at StarrCommonwealth. She also worked at one time in the Albion office of Southeastern Michigan Gas Company, and as a nurse’s aide at Sheldon Memorial Hospital during World War II. Ethel died on July 26, 1978.
