Hotel Albion, 1845

The Hotel Albion was erected in 1845, and stood on the southeast corner of N. Superior St. and E. MichiganAvenue (site of Shell Gasoline Refueling Station today). It was one of the prominent hostelries in southern Michigan, and contained a large dining room where numerousluncheons were held. With the opening of the Parker Inn in 1926, business dwindled, and the hotel was demolished in 1930. Today a gas station is on the site.
