Description
The James W. Sheldon Memorial Hospital cornerstone was laid on May 25, 1923 andthe hospital opened in May 1924. The hospital was named in memory of noted Albionbanker James W. Sheldon, after a $50,000 check was given from the estate of Sheldon’s daughter, Madelon Leffingwell (1859-1921). The SheldonHospital was closed at the end of 1967 with the opening of the Albion Community Hospital. It was reopened as Sheldon Manor in 1970, which operated until 1978.In 1999 the Sheldon Place Luxury Apartments were opened.

I am trying to do some research on my biological family i was adopted aug 1st of 1990. My name is nathan james bottjer and was nathan edward williams. From what i have found so far my late uncle isaac edward williams was born in the sheldon memorial hospital 8-22-1949 or 1950 and i was wondering if someone could help me with info on my grandma and grandpa(his mom and dad) all i have is my grandpa was john edward williams and was in the illinois state penitentiary around this time and his mother was opal juanita caudill. any info would be of big help.
