Konrad O. Felisky (1896-1981) was a well-known early 20th century Albion barber. A native of Russia, Konrad came to Albion in 1917 and was active in the local Russian Baptist Church. This 1929 photo depicts hais barbershop at 611 Austin Avenue. The left window reads “BARBER SHOP.” The right window states “MAPLE CITY ATHLETIC CLUB HEADQUARTERS, JOS. PASICK.” The latter served as the business office for boxer Joseph B. Pasic (1907-1994) who trained Albion boxers in the 1920s and 1930s.
